A man was hit by a car at the intersection of Melbourne Place and Route 1 at about 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, said Prince George’s County Police.

The victim was taken to the hospital in an ambulance with non life-threatening injuries, police spokesman Corp. Harry Bond said.

The pedestrian entered the crosswalk at the intersection when the walk signal was red. The driver was attempting to cross Melbourne Place and had the right of way, Bond said.

The driver remained at the scene until police arrived. No charges were issued to the driver.

The victim most likely won’t face charges, but couldn’t confirm until their investigation is complete, Bond added.
